Hi,
Sending you a quick reminder… The deadline to weigh in on EPA’s RFS reallocation proposal is TOMORROW. This proposal would inflate the 2026-2027 federal biofuel mandate, adding billions to what refiners and consumers are going to have to pay. You can find the step-by-step instructions to submit your comment to EPA here… it’s one more step than usual, so budget an extra 30 seconds.

Two urgent things,
First, we’re on a tight deadline to submit Renewable Fuel Standard (RFS) reallocation comments. October 31 is the cutoff, which is fitting for a policy as *scary* as this one. If reallocation gets added to EPA’s RFS proposal, it could add billions more to RFS regulatory costs over the next two years! That means American families and refiners could be on the hook for a staggering $140+ billion over the course of 2026 and 2027.
Second, we just found out that the federal government changed the system for submitting comments on regulations. They’re no longer accepting comments emailed from sites like AFPM EMPOWER.
Now, if we want to weigh in, it’s a slightly more complicated process. We’re doing everything we can to keep this as straightforward as possible, and it’ll take three steps:
- Visit our RFS reallocation page and copy the draft comment.
- Go to this page at regulations.gov.
- At regulations.gov, enter your information, paste in the comment text from EMPOWER (and customize as you see fit), and submit directly to EPA from there.
Start the process
EPA needs to hear from you to clearly understand the stakes of RFS reallocation. Even though it’ll take us all an extra step to deliver the message, I really hope you will submit a comment.
Please send me a note if you run into any problems between our site or regulations.gov. We’re in this together.
